Coin Metrics is excited to announce the release of Coinbase Exchange Flow data, adding a new layer of transparency to the movement of assets on one of the largest and most significant exchanges in the crypto ecosystem.
With this expansion, users can now track Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) flows into and out of Coinbase, alongside miner interactions and total supply held on the exchange. These insights provide a more comprehensive view of exchange activity, liquidity trends, and potential market shifts.

What’s New?
The following metrics are now available for both BTC and ETH on Coinbase:
- Exchange Inflows & Outflows: Monitor the movement of assets entering and leaving Coinbase, expressed in native units and USD.
- Net Flows: Determine whether Coinbase is experiencing net inflows or outflows over time.
- Miner Flows: Analyze the interactions between miners and Coinbase, including both inflows and outflows.
- Transfer Counts: Track the number of individual deposits and withdrawals to gauge transaction activity.
- Exchange Supply: Gain insights into the total supply of BTC and ETH held on Coinbase.
Key Use Cases
- Liquidity & Market Trends: Assess how exchange inflows and outflows correlate with price movements and market sentiment.
- Risk & Supply Analysis: Understand how much BTC and ETH are held on Coinbase, helping evaluate liquidity risks and exchange concentration.
