Coin Metrics is committed to building the crypto economy on a foundation of truth, providing authentic and accurate data with the highest standards of clarity and precision. With this mission in mind, we are proud to share our September edition of Movers and Shakers, the monthly resource aiming to bring more transparency and credibility to the rapidly evolving crypto space.
As new assets reach a certain degree of accessibility to investors, specifically as they achieve alignment with our Market Selection Framework and the Trusted Volume Framework, Coin Metrics uses its crypto expertise to describe the assets’ context of use. The following assets are expected to reach alignment this month:
SEI (SEI)
Sei (SEI) is a smart contract platform built with the Cosmos SDK designed to support high transaction throughput specializing in digital asset exchange. Sei uses a twin-turbo consensus mechanism to decrease block formation times by enabling validators to rebuild blocks with the same data in their own mempool and optimistically producing blocks to enhance validation efficiency. Sei blocks can include transactions processed simultaneously through a configured parallel structure. Sei offers a Native Order Matching Engine to developers to build custom exchange orderbooks for tokens and NFTs. The matching engine assists in creating a capital efficient trading experience, bundling orders, generating atomic exchanges, and protecting against frontrunning strategies. SEI tokens are used to participate in governance proposals, pay transaction fees, and staked to secure the network.
