Coin Metrics is pleased to announce the version 2.8 release of our Hourly Reference Rates and version 0.9 release of our Real-Time Reference Rates. Updated methodology documents for both products can be found here.

Coin Metrics produces the CM Reference Rates, a collection of prices quoted in U.S. dollars, published once per hour and once per second, for a set of cryptocurrencies and a fiat currencies.

This release includes the addition of several fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies as well as some terminations to our coverage universe.

Fiat Currency Coverage Universe Additions

Several fiat currencies are added to our coverage universe. The prices for these fiat currencies are derived from markets traded on centralized cryptocurrency exchanges. Market convention sets the fiat currencies as the quote currency for the majority of active markets. Therefore, constituent markets for these fiat currencies follow a data hierarchy described in our methodology where active markets where the fiat currency is the quote currency are able to be selected.
