Movers & Shakers March 2025

Coin Metrics is committed to building the crypto economy on a foundation of truth, providing authentic and accurate data with the highest standards of clarity and precision. With this mission in mind, we are proud to share our March edition of Movers and Shakers, the monthly resource aiming to bring more transparency and credibility to the rapidly evolving crypto space.

As new assets reach a certain degree of accessibility to investors, specifically as they achieve alignment with our Market Selection Framework and the Trusted Volume Framework, Coin Metrics uses its crypto expertise to describe the assets’ context of use. The following assets are expected to reach alignment this month:

BOOK OF MEME (BOME) is a meme coin on Solana creating a collection of on-chain memes. Created by @Darkfarms1, BOME tokens contain metadata connected to a book containing images of memes, stored on Arweave (AR) and IPFS. Alternative on-chain storage solutions are being explored to store memes for token holders. BOME metadata is mutable to receive updated connections to the collection and create a community of meme appreciators. Users can create their own memes on the Arweave repository to submit to be added to the book of memes. BOME tokens can be acquired through various decentralized exchanges and deposited in liquidity pools.

Movement (MOVE) is a network scaling Layer-2 on Ethereum combining a high-speed programming language with multiple interoperability tools. Movement uses the Move programming language, which was developed by Meta, to execute smart contracts. Developers can also deploy EVM-based applications which are automatically converted into MoveVM code to reduce friction in onboarding language-specific protocols. If two or more transactions do not affect the same accounts, they can be executed in parallel, increasing transaction throughput. Validators can stake assets to participate in Movement’s decentralized sequencer to order and execute transactions. Transactions are settled on Ethereum (ETH) using the Fast Finality Settlement module instead of optimistic or zero-knowledge proofs to verify an accurate progression of events. For validators, Movement posts its data to Celestia (TIA) to increase the speed and decrease cost of reading and writing transaction state changes. Users pay MOVE tokens to transact on the network and can stake to support the Proof-of-Stake decentralized sequencer.
